ELMHURST, Ill. (9/19-20/03) -- Britt Bogner (So., Burnsville, Minn./Apple Valley HS) led Augsburg College with 23 kills and 22 digs over the weekend, as the Auggies placed seventh at the Elmhurst College Volleyball Invitational, held Friday and Saturday.

Augsburg went 1-3 in the eight-team tournament to finish seventh overall, moving to 2-11 on the season. On Friday, Augsburg lost to Calvin (Mich.) in three games (30-22, 30-19, 30-19), and lost to Lakeland (Wis.) in four games (30-27, 29-31, 30-21, 30-18). On Saturday, Augsburg was swept by Central (Iowa) in three games (30-7, 30-17, 30-17), before beating the University of Chicago (Ill.) in four games in the seventh-place match (10-30, 30-20, 30-25, 30-24).

Bogner was one of four Auggies to claim 23 kills on the weekend. Kristy Larson (Jr., Pine Island, Minn.) had 23 kills and four blocks (one solo), Elsie Ginsberg (Fr., St. Paul, Minn./Central HS) had 23 kills and 10 blocks, and Linnea Evans (So., Kenyon, Minn./Kenyon-Wanamingo HS) had 23 kills and 27 digs.

Bogner and Larson had 10 kills apiece to lead the Auggies in the win over Chicago, with Ginsberg adding nine kills. In the loss to Lakeland, Evans had 12 kills and 13 digs, while Larson had 10 kills.

Bri Simon (Fr., Hayfield, Minn.) had 15 kills and 16 digs on the weekend, with 10 kills coming in the opening loss to Calvin. Billie Painschab (So., Howard Lake, Minn./Howard Lake-Waverly HS) had 12 kills and a team-high 14 blocks (five solo).

Anna Piermantier (Sr., Afton, Minn./Stillwater HS) had 56 assists and 18 digs on the weekend, with Alexis Johnson (So., Oakdale, Minn./North St. Paul HS) adding 47 assists and 16 digs. Johnson had 22 assists in the loss to Lakeland, and Piermantier had 34 assists and 12 digs in the win over Chicago.

Augsburg returns to Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play on Wednesday (9/24) at 7:30 p.m., as the Auggies have their first home conference match of the season, hosting St. Benedict at Si Melby Hall.
