ST. PAUL, Minn. (10/2/04) -- Lindsay Zillgitt (Fr., Lakeville, Minn.) scored an unassisted goal with 1:26 left in the second overtime, giving the College of St. Catherine a 2-1 victory over visiting Augsburg College in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's soccer game on Saturday afternoon.
Zillgitt scored on a short goal kick in the 119th minute, with a 20-yard shot past Augsburg goalkeeper
Liz Osterman (Fr., Lincoln, Neb./Southeast HS) for the game-winner.
St. Catherine improves to 2-7-0 overall, 2-3-0 in MIAC play, while Augsburg drops to 4-5-0, 3-2-0 in MIAC play.
Kristin Wros (Sr., River Falls, Wis.) opened the scoring in the 66th minute, getting her first goal of the season on a scramble in front of the goal after a throw-in by Nicki Kielsa (Fr., North St. Paul, Minn.). Augsburg tied the game in the 84th minute, as
Millie Suk * (Jr., Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) scored her fourth goal of the season on an assist from
Aili Brom-Palkowski (So., Minneapolis, Minn./South HS).
Augsburg outshot St. Catherine by a 28-18 margin, including a 15-5 edge in the first half. Katie Knodel (Jr., Bismarck, N.D./Century HS) made 14 saves for St. Catherine, while Augsburg's Osterman made eight saves.
