Emily Anderson (So., Hudson, Wis.) scored two goals and added an assist, and goalkeeper
Liz Osterman (Fr., Lincoln, Neb./Southeast HS) claimed her second straight shutout victory in goal, as Augsburg College scored a 4-0 victory over Bethel College in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's soccer match Saturday afternoon at Orth Fields.
Anderson scored goals in the 17th and 39th minute for the Auggies, who improved to 2-3-0 overall and 1-1 in MIAC play. Bethel drops to 1-3-1 overall and 0-1 in MIAC play.
Augsburg outshot Bethel by a 17-5 margin, with Osterman making two saves to claim her second career shutout.
After Anderson's first goal of the game, on an assist by
Noreen Hogan (Fr., Moline, Ill./Alleman HS),
Becky Lewis (So., Duluth, Minn./Duluth Marshall HS) claimed her first collegiate goal, on feeds from
Erin Gave (Fr., Cambridge, Minn./Cambridge-Isanti HS) and
Nora Austin * (Jr., St. Paul, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall HS).
Austin assisted on Anderson's second goal of the game, and Anderson fed the last Auggie goal, scored by
Aili Brom-Palkowski (So., Minneapolis, Minn./South HS).
Jennie Pulford made six saves for Bethel.
Augsburg returns to MIAC play on Wednesday (9/22) with a game against St. Mary's at 5 p.m. at Edor Nelson Field. Bethel also returns to action on Wednesday at 4 p.m. with a game at Northwestern-Roseville.
