Kristy Larson * (Sr., Pine Island, Minn.) earned All-Tournament Team honors with a 39-kill, .250-attack-percentage performance in four matches, leading the Augsburg College volleyball team to a 3-1 record and second-place team finish at the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Labor Day Tournament, held Friday and Saturday at the McPhee Physical Education Center.
Augsburg won its first three matches before falling to Wisconsin-Eau Claire in its final match of the day on Saturday. On Friday, Augsburg swept Minnesota-Morris in three games (30-28, 30-26, 30-23), then beat Hamline in four games (30-18, 23-30, 30-24, 30-20). On Saturday, the Auggies opened with a five-game marathon win over St. Catherine (30-12, 30-27, 22-30, 26-30, 15-11), before falling to host Wisconsin-Eau Claire in four games (30-8, 30-22, 26-30, 30-18).
In the process, Augsburg improved to 3-2 overall, already matching the number of wins the team has had in each of the last two seasons (3-24 in 2003, 3-25 in 2002), after just five matches this season.
Larson had at least seven kills in each of the four matches, including a 15-kill, two-block (one solo) performance in the win over Hamline. She had eight kills in the victory over St. Catherine; nine kills and three blocks (one solo) in the win over Minnesota-Morris; and seven kills and a block in the loss to the host Blugolds.
Billie Painschab (Jr., Howard Lake, Minn./Howard Lake-Waverly HS) produced one of the best tournament performances of her career, with a team-high 44 kills, a .267 attack percentage and 13 blocks (three solo). She had nine kills and five blocks in the win over Minnesota-Morris; 16 kills and two blocks (one solo) against Hamline; 10 kills and two blocks (one solo) against St. Catherine; and nine kills and four blocks (one solo) against Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
Sarah Bradley (Fr., International Falls, Minn.) had an impressive weekend for the Auggies, with 37 kills, a .213 attack percentage and team-highs of 61 digs and eight service aces. She had seven kills, 16 digs and three service aces against Minnesota-Morris; nine kills and 18 blocks against Hamline; her first career double-double with 12 kills and 15 digs against St. Catherine; and nine kills and 13 blocks against Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
Linnea Evans * (Jr., Kenyon, Minn./Kenyon-Wanamingo HS) had 31 kills, 23 digs and seven blocks on the weekend, highlighted by a 16-kills, eight-dig, four-block performance against Minnesota-Morris.

Alexis Johnson (Jr., Oakdale, Minn./North St. Paul HS) contributed 142 assists (9.47 per match), 35 digs and five service aces on the weekend, with 35 assists against Minnesota-Morris, 48 assists in the four-game match against Hamline, 37 assists against St. Catherine and 22 assists against Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Augsburg returns to action next weekend with the annual Augsburg Invitational tournament at Si Melby Hall. Matches begin on Friday (9/10) at 2 p.m., with Augsburg taking on St. Scholastica. Augsburg faces Wisconsin-Stout on Friday at 6 p.m., and St. Olaf on Saturday (9/11) at 9 a.m.
