ST. PAUL, Minn. (9/8/04) -- Macalester College won its Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference opener Wednesday at home, defeating Augsburg College 4-1 behind second half goals from Annie Borton, Jenny Singleton and Katie Pastorius.
Augsburg gained its lone goal from
Emily Anderson (So., Hudson, Wis.), on an assist from
Millie Suk * (Jr., Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) in the 12th minute. Macalester outshot Augsburg by a 19-4 margin.
Augsburg is back in action with a nonconference game on Sunday (9/12) at 1 p.m., hosting Grinnell (Iowa) at Edor Nelson Field. Next up for the Scots is a non-conference game Saturday (9/11) at Wisconsin-Eau Claire.
