TOURNAMENT STATS

CHICAGO, Ill. (9/16-17/05) -- The Augsburg College volleyball team went 0-4 in competition over the weekend at the University of Chicago Gargoyle Classic tournament, held at the Ratner Athletic Center.

On Friday, Augsburg suffered two four-game losses, falling to Aurora (Ill.) 27-30, 30-19, 30-26, 30-21; and to Benedictine (Ill.) 30-26, 20-30, 30-24, 30-23. On Saturday, Augsburg was swept in two losses, falling to host Chicago (Ill.) 30-16, 30-16, 30-14; and to Monmouth (Ill.) 30-20, 30-23, 30-21.

Linnea Evans * (Sr., Kenyon, Minn./Kenyon-Wanamingo HS) led the Auggies in hitting, with 27 kills on the weekend. She also had 37 assists, 18 digs and two blocks on the weekend, to go with a team-high six service aces.

Billie Painschab * (Sr., Howard Lake, Minn./Howard Lake-Waverly HS) had 19 kills and a team-high 14 blocks (seven solo) on the weekend, while Dani Boner (Fr., Omaha, Neb./Mercy HS) had 18 kills, 18 digs, five service aces and three blocks (one solo).

Katie LaGrave (So., Okinawa, Japan/Kadena HS) had 16 kills and hit a team-high .192, adding 13 blocks (five solo). Beckie Jackson (Fr., Winthrop, Minn./Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop HS) and Kristina Lurken (So., Kenyon, Minn./Kenyon-Wanamingo HS) also had 16 kills apiece, with Lurken adding seven blocks and Jackson adding 25 assists.

Alexis Johnson (Sr., Oakdale, Minn./North St. Paul HS) had 55 assists and 17 digs on the weekend. Haley Bower (So., Brainerd, Minn.) contributed a team-high 43digs, while Emma Sutton (So., Chicago, Ill./Mother McCauley HS) had 13 digs.

Augsburg returns to Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play on Tuesday (9/20) at 7 p.m., hosting Concordia-Moorhead at Si Melby Hall.
