DULUTH, Minn. (12/4/06) -- Eric Langdon scored 32 points on 10-of-13 shooting, and William Maupins recorded his second straight triple-double, with 19 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists, leading the College of St. Scholastica to a 95-79 win over visiting Augsburg College in a nonconference men's basketball game Monday night at the Reif Recreation Center.
Brady Zubke had 18 points and seven rebounds, Derek Johnson had 13 points and Akente Ward had 12 points and four steals for the Saints, now 2-5 overall. Langdon connected on 6-of-9 from three-point range for the Saints.
Dan Graf (Sr., Lino Lakes, Minn./Centennial HS) scored 18 points with eight rebounds and three steals for Augsburg, now 3-2 overall.
Chuck Scott * (Sr., Ely, Minn.) had 16 points and four rebounds for the Auggies.
Augsburg claimed a four-point halftime lead, 44-41, in a stanza marked by 10 lead changes and six ties. St. Scholastica used a 10-1 run to claim a 10-point lead, 69-59 with 9:18 left in the game. Augsburg eventually cut the lead to five points, 79-74 with 3:57 left, but the Saints outscored Augsburg by a 16-5 margin down the stretch to score the win.
Femi Solaja (Jr., Cottage Grove, Minn./St. Paul Harding HS) scored 13 points on 6-of-9 shooting for the Auggies.
Jon Cassens (Fr., Prior Lake, Minn.) had 12 points and five assists, while
Mitch Dice (Jr., Savage, Minn./Bloomington Lutheran HS) had nine points, six rebounds and two blocked shots.
Augsburg returns to Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play on Wednesday (12/6) at 5:45 p.m. with a game at St. Olaf. St. Scholastica opens Upper Midwest Athletic Conference play on Saturday (12/9) at 5:30 p.m., hosting Northland (Wis.)
