Augsburg falls in five games at St. Olaf.

MOORHEAD, Minn. (10/3/07) -- Jane Meyer and Kim Smisek had 17 kills apiece to lead the St. Olaf College volleyball team to a five-game (30-15, 30-27, 20-30, 26-30, 15-7) win over Augsburg College on Wednesday night. The Oles (7-8 overall, 2-5 MIAC), who snapped a three-game losing skid, rattled off eight straight in the deciding fifth game after the Auggies led 1-0.

Breann Woelfel (So., Annandale, Minn.) had a team-best 13 kills for the Auggies (8-12 overall, 1-6 MIAC). She added 12 digs and two blocks.

Julie Jenkins (Jr., Edina, Minn.) claimed her sixth career triple-double and third of the season for the Auggies, with 12 kills, 10 digs and 13 assists, to go along with three blocks.

Laura Harms (Jr., Little Falls, Minn.) had nine kills, seven digs, four blocks and four service aces for Augsburg, while Shanna Reed (So., Eagan, Minn./Holy Angels HS) had 24 assists and three service aces. Haley Bower (Sr., Brainerd, Minn.) had 20 digs and Jessica Hilk (Fr., Waconia, Minn./Mayer Lutheran HS) had 10 digs.

Jess Levin and Paige Olson added 13 and 11 kills, and Alyssa Williams had 27 digs for the Oles. Smisek had three kills in the 8-0 game five run and hit a match-best .245.

Augsburg competes at the Wartburg (Iowa) Tournament on Friday and Saturday (10/12-13), while St. Olaf competes at the North Central (Ill.) Tournament over the weekend.
