WAVERLY, Iowa (10/12-13/07) -- Laura Harms (Jr., Little Falls, Minn.) collected 49 kills and nine blocks (two solo) in four matches, as the Augsburg College volleyball team went 1-3 to finish in sixth place at the Wartburg College (Iowa) Invitational over the weekend.

On Friday, Augsburg opened the tournament with a four-game victory over Augustana (Ill., 28-30, 30-23, 30-25, 30-12), and lost to host Wartburg in three games (30-28, 30-22, 30-17). On Saturday, Augsburg was swept by Nebraska Wesleyan (30-19, 30-16, 32-30) and lost in the fifth-place match to Simpson (Iowa, 30-22, 30-26, 30-26). Augsburg is now 9-15 on the season.

Harms had 15 kills and four blocks (one solo) in the win over Augustana, 10 kills and two blocks in the loss to Wartburg, 14 kills and a solo block in the Nebraska Wesleyan match and 10 kills and two blocks against Simpson.

Breann Woelfel (So., Annandale, Minn.) had 28 kills, five service aces and 19 digs on the weekend, including eight kills, three aces and six digs against Augustana, eight kills against Wartburg and seven kills against Nebraska Wesleyan.

Melissa Larsen (Jr., Andover, Minn.) had 24 kills on the weekend, including 13 in the match against Simpson. Kristina Lurken (Sr., Kenyon, Minn./Kenyon-Wanamingo HS) had 17 kills and 15 digs on the weekend, and Julie Jenkins (Jr., Edina, Minn.) had 14 kills, 37 assists, 18 digs and three blocks (one solo) on the weekend.

Haley Bower (Sr., Brainerd, Minn.) collected 91 digs on the weekend, including 27 against Augustana, 21 against Wartburg, 23 against Nebraska Wesleyan and 20 against Simpson. Jessica Hilk (Fr., Waconia, Minn./Mayer Lutheran HS) had 39 digs and Dani Tanaka (So., Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson HS) had 32 digs.

Shanna Reed (So., Eagan, Minn./Holy Angels HS) had 42 assists and 16 digs, while Denielle Johnson (Fr., Blaine, Minn./Spring Lake Park HS) had 32 assists.

Augsburg returns to action on Wednesday (10/17) at 4 p.m. with a nonconference match at North Central (Minn.) in Minneapolis.
