MINNEAPOLIS (10/19/07) -- Like its counterpart in basketball, a triple-double in volleyball is a rare thing. And a quadruple-double is even rarer.

Augsburg College's Julie Jenkins (Jr., Edina, Minn.) fell just three blocks away from recording a quadruple-double, but claimed her seventh career triple-double and fourth of the season with 14 kills, 13 assists and 10 digs, leading the Auggies to a victory in five games over St. Mary's University in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference volleyball match on Friday night at Augsburg's Si Melby Hall.

Augsburg rallied from a 30-14 first-game loss to record the win in five games (14-30, 30-20, 30-24, 25-30, 15-4). Augsburg is now 11-15 overall, 2-6 in MIAC play. With three matches remaining, the 11th win of the season for the Auggies matches last season's win total (11-17).

In addition to her kill, assist and dig totals, Jenkins, an outside hitter/setter in Augsburg's 6-2 alignment, also recorded a career high-matching seven blocks (one solo). Laura Harms (Jr., Little Falls, Minn.) recorded her fifth double-double of the season, with 19 kills and a season-high 13 digs for the Auggies.

Jessica Mate (Fr., St. Charles, Ill./St. Charles East HS) led St. Mary's (16-10 overall, 2-6 MIAC) with 16 kills and 10 digs, along with two service aces. Sarah Gardner (Fr., Rochester, Minn./Mayo HS) had 11 kills, and Racquel Reker (Fr., Mantorville, Minn./Byron HS) had nine kills and three blocks.

St. Mary's jumped out to leads of 12-5 and 23-9 en route to the easy first-game victory. Mate led the Cardinals with four kills in the first game. Meanwhile, Augsburg hit a negative-.133 in the first game, with eight kills and 14 attack errors in 45 attacks.

The result was flip-flopped in the second game, as Augsburg jumped out to leads of 16-12 and 20-15 and claimed the win. Harms had seven kills and three blocks in the second game, as Augsburg hit .350 (16 kills, two errors in 40 attacks). Meanwhile, St. Mary's hit just .039 (15 kills, 13 errors in 51 attacks).

The third game was a closer one, with 10 ties and six lead changes. But Augsburg pulled ahead late, leading 28-20 before the Cardinals rallied. Harms and Jenkins had five kills apiece for the Auggies, with Jenkins hitting .714 with four blocks (one solo) and Harms hitting .556. Mate had seven kills for the Cardinals, with Pam Stanton (So., Mundelein, Ill./Carmel HS) adding four kills.

St. Mary's led nearly the entire way in the fourth game, with the exception of a 1-1 tie. The Cardinals pulled ahead to lead 20-13 before Augsburg rallied to cut the score late. Mate had four kills for the Cardinals, while Breann Woelfel (So., Annandale, Minn.) and Jenkins had four kills apiece for Augsburg.

Augsburg jumped out to an 11-3 lead in the deciding fifth game, hitting .462 (six kills, no errors in 13 attacks). The Cardinals hit negative-.174 in the final game (four kills, eight errors in 23 attacks).
