ROSEVILLE, Minn. (8/31-9/1/07) -- Laura Harms (Jr., Little Falls, Minn.) earned All-Tournament Team honors for Augsburg College, as the Auggies opened the 2007 season with a seventh-place finish at the Northwestern College-Roseville Labor Day Weekend Tournament on Friday and Saturday.

On Friday at the Northwestern Ericksen Center, Augsburg opened with two losses, falling to Carleton College in three games (30-19, 30-21, 35-33) and to the College of St. Mary (Neb.) in four games (32-30, 30-22, 28-30, 30-23). On Saturday at Bethel University's Sports and Recreation Center, the Auggies fell in four games to St. Olaf College (30-23, 30-20, 25-30, 30-26), before coming back to sweep North Central University (Minn.) in the seventh-place match (30-12, 30-21, 30-17).

Harms, a middle hitter and transfer from Division I Mercer (Ga.), collected 49 kills, 10 blocks (two solo) and 15 digs in the four matches. Against Carleton, she had seven kills and five blocks (one solo), while she had 16 kills and five digs against St. Mary, 17 kills and seven digs against St. Olaf and nine kills and three blocks (one solo) against North Central.

Outside hitter Breann Woelfel (So., Annandale, Minn.) collected 39 kills and 25 digs on the weekend. She had 15 kills and 15 digs against Carleton, while claiming 10 kills and six digs against St. Mary. On Saturday, she had nine kills in the St. Olaf match and five kills in the North Central match.

Outside hitter/setter Julie Jenkins (Jr., Edina, Minn.) claimed 27 kills, 27 assists, 18 digs and 10 blocks (one solo), including a six-block (one solo) effort against St. Mary, a nine-kill effort against St. Olaf and an eight-kill, 16-assist effort against North Central.

Kristina Lurken (Jr., Kenyon, Minn./Kenyon-Wanamingo HS) claimed 16 kills and 23 digs on the weekend, Melissa Larsen (Jr., Andover, Minn.) had 12 kills and Amanda Rueb (Jr., Plymouth, Minn./West Lutheran HS) claimed 11 kills and 10 blocks (five solo).

Libero Haley Bower (Sr., Brainerd, Minn.) collected 38 digs, as did Jessica Hilk (Fr., Waconia, Minn./Mayer Lutheran HS). Dani Tanaka (So., Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson HS) contributed 26 digs. Setter Shanna Reed (So., Eagan, Minn./Holy Angels HS) led the team with 122 assists, nine service aces and 40 digs.

Augsburg travels to Mankato, Minn., to face Bethany Lutheran on Wednesday (9/5) at 7 p.m.
