ST. PAUL, Minn. (9/22/07) -- Freshman Regina Horak scored an unassisted goal in the ninth minute Saturday to power the host University of St. Thomas to a 1-0 victory over visiting Augsburg College in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's soccer play at UST's South Field.

St. Thomas (5-2 overall, 2-1 MIAC) has won five of its last six games while Augsburg (3-3-2 overall, 1-1-1 MIAC) suffered its first conference loss. The Tommies avenged a 3-0 loss to the Auggies in the 2006 regular-season finale.

Tommie senior Kaisa Erickson was in goal all 90 minutes and had three saves. UST recorded its third shutout of the season. UST has scored first in six of its seven games. Augsburg goalkeeper Maggie DeGroot * (Jr., Waukesha, Wis./Waukesha West HS) recorded three saves.

The Toms outshot the Auggies 12-7 but couldn't convert on several good scoring attempts. Whitney Holman (So., New Hope, Minn./Robbinsdale Armstrong HS) had two shots for Augsburg.

Augsburg returns to action on Wednesday (9/26) with a 7:30 p.m. home match against St. Olaf at Edor Nelson Field. The Tommies have two home non-conference matches this week -- Sunday vs. UW-Whitewater (2 p.m.) and Wednesday vs. UW-River Falls (4 p.m.).
