RIVER FALLS, Wis. (10/10-11/08) -- The Augsburg College volleyball team went 3-1 to finish second at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls Invitational over the weekend, with outside hitter Julie Jenkins (SR, Edina, Minn.) earning a spot on the All-Tournament Team.

Augsburg (13-11 overall) opened the tournament with a three-set sweep of Viterbo (Wis., 25-22, 25-18, 25-20) and a win in four sets over Loras (Iowa, 15-25, 25-19, 25-21, 25-14) on Friday. On Saturday, the Auggies fell in straight sets to host Wisconsin-River Falls (25-17, 25-19, 25-23), but rallied with a win over Macalester (25-15, 25-15, 26-24) to finish 3-1 on the weekend. St. Mary's won the tournament with a 4-0 record, while Augsburg was second. Loras and Wisconsin-River Falls were tied for third with 2-2 records.

Jenkins had team-highs of 32 kills (.205 attack percentage) and 10 blocks on the weekend, to go along with 28 digs, two service aces and 12 assists. She had 10 kills, three blocks and six digs against Viterbo; 10 kills, 12 digs, two blocks, two aces and seven assists against Loras; four kills and four digs against Wisconsin-River Falls; and eight kills, four blocks and six digs against Macalester.

Katie Christensen (SO, North Mankato, Minn./Mankato West HS) claimed 28 kills and 14 digs on the weekend, while Barbara Simmons (JR, Minneapolis, Minn./South HS) had 26 kills and 10 blocks in the four matches. Amanda Rueb (SR, Plymouth, Minn./West Lutheran HS) scored 21 kills, six blocks and 10 digs on the weekend, while Breann Woelfel (JR, Annandale, Minn.) had 19 kills, 27 digs and a team-best-tying five service aces. Dani Boner (JR, Omaha, Neb./Mercy HS) recorded 12 kills, three blocks and 24 digs on the weekend.

Woelfel had a double-double with 10 kills, 16 digs and three service aces against Viterbo, as did Boner with 10 kills and 10 digs against Loras. Christensen led the Auggies with nine kills against Wisconsin-River Falls, and Simmons had seven kills against Macalester.

Setter Shanna Reed (JR, Eagan, Minn./Holy Angels HS) had 111 assists (8.54 per-game), three blocks, 23 digs and five service aces on the weekend. Defensively, Dani Tanaka (JR, Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson HS) recorded 58 digs and three service aces, and Jessica Hilk (SO, Waconia, Minn./Mayer Lutheran HS) had 43 digs and two service aces.

Augsburg returns to Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play on Wednesday (10/15) at 7 p.m., hosting St. Olaf at Si Melby Hall.
