MINNEAPOLIS -- Jennifer Lovering (JR, Bemidji, Minn.) led the Auggies in their season opener with a seventh place finish, completing the 5,000-meter course in 20:06, as Augsburg competed in a dual meet against Bethel University in Riverside park.

The Royals were able to claim the top six places, including a course-record 17:59 by Marie Borner (SR, Cottage Grove, Minn.), to claim the 15-49 victory over the Auggies.

Also having strong races for Augsburg was Jennifer Pulscher (SO, Colorado Springs, Colo./Liberty HS) and Kacie Bahr (SO, Brainerd, Minn.), who recorded 12th and 13th place finishes respectively, crossing the line in 22:39 and 23:05.

Rounding out the top five for the Auggies was newcomers Stacia Francis (SR, St. Cloud, Minn.) and Erika Coe (FY, Roseville, Minn.), who finished in 18th and 19th places respectively.

The Auggies' next action will take place on Sept. 19 when they travel to Northfield, Minn. for the St. Olaf College Invitational.
