BOXSCORE
ST. PAUL, Minn. --
Serenae Levine (JR, Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie HS) led Augsburg College with 15 points and 15 rebounds, but Augsburg was not able to overcome a tough University of St. Thomas team as the Auggies fell 87-48 in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's basketball action on Monday night at UST's Anderson Athletic Center.
Levine went 5-for-12 from the field and 5-of-7 at the free-throw line, while adding four assists and a steal to lead Augsburg (1-5 overall, 0-3 MIAC).
Katie Ahlstrom (SO, St. Paul, Minn./Henry Sibley HS) had a nice night for the Auggies off the bench, scoring six points on a 3-for-4 shooting performance from the field, while adding and assist and a steal.
St. Thomas (4-2 overall, 3-0 MIAC) was led by Carolyn Dienhart, who scored 15 points and added two assists.
St. Thomas took an early lead in what would be a sloppy game with the two teams committing a combined 67 turnovers. The early Tommie lead would be one they would never relinquish as Augsburg fell to a tough St. Thomas team.
For the game, Augsburg shot 32.0 percent (16-of-50) from the field, while the Tommies connected on 51.6 percent (33-of-64) of their shots. Augsburg was able to win the battle on the boards (39-37) but committed a season-high 40 turnovers.
Augsburg and St. Thomas both return to action on Wednesday (12/8) at 7:30 p.m., with Augsburg hosting Hamline and St. Thomas hosting St. Olaf.
