Tracee Schrank (SO, Reedsburg, Wis./Reedsburg HS) and
Brittany Dyshaw (SO, Eagan, Minn./Eagan HS) scored 28 and 19 points respectively to lead Augsburg College to a 75-69 win over Hamline University in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's basketball action on Wednesday night at Augsburg's Si Melby Hall.
Schrank posted a game- and career-high 28 points for Augsburg (2-5 overall, 1-3 MIAC) on 9-of-18 shooting from the field, including 5-of-8 from beyond the arc. Schrank also added three rebounds and three steals. Dyshaw posted her second double-double of the season, recording season-highs with 19 points and 16 rebounds. Maddie Weiske (FY, De Pere, Wis./West De Pere HS) also posted career-highs for the Auggies with eight points and 10 rebounds.
Hamline (1-5 overall, 0-3 MIAC) was led by Mary Wilkowski and Brianna Blackhawk, who finished with 22 and 18 points respectively.
After trailing at the intermission, Augsburg came out on a 10-0 run to start the second half. The Auggies started moving the ball, opening up their offense and allowing for some quality looks. Both teams traded baskets in a very evenly matched final 10 minutes. Schrank hit a big three-pointer with just under two minutes to play which gave Augsburg a 72-67 lead. The Auggies were able to connect on 3-of-4 from the free throw line in the final 35 seconds to claim a 75-69 win over the Pipers.
For the game, Augsburg shot 37.9 percent (25-of-66) from the field, while the Pipers connected on 39.4 percent of their shots. Augsburg claimed a huge advantage on the boards, out-rebounding Hamline 50-37.
Augsburg and Hamline both return to action on Saturday (12/8), with Augsburg traveling to Macalester and Hamline traveling to St. Olaf.
