Dyshaw leads Augsburg in loss to St. Benedict

ST. JOSEPH, Minn. -- Brittany Dyshaw (FY, Eagan, Minn.) led Augsburg with 12 points, eight rebounds and four steals as the Auggies fell to the College of St. Benedict 83-56 on Wednesday night in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action at St. Benedict's Claire Lynch Hall.

Augsburg (3-19 overall, 3-16 MIAC) was led by Dyshaw's third double digit scoring outing in her last four contests. Also finishing in double figures for the Auggies were Tracee Schrank (FY, Reedsburg, Wis./Reedsburg Area HS) and Serenae Levine (SO, Eden Prairie, Minn.). Schrank finished with 12 points and six rebounds, while Levine added 10 points, three assists and three steals.

St. Benedict (17-5 overall, 15-4 MIAC) was led by the duo of Amy Stifter and Heather Gillund. Stifter finished with 21 points on 9-of-10 shooting from the floor, while Gillund posted 19 points and three blocked shots.

The Blazers outscored Augsburg 19-6 over the opening 10 minutes of action, a lead which proved to be too much for the Auggies to overcome. Augsburg was able to regroup at half-time and outscored St. Ben's 9-6 over the opening five minutes of the second half but the Blazers again rallied went on to claim the 83-56 win over Augsburg.

For the game, Augsburg shot 31.1 percent (19-of-61), while St. Benedict converted on 46.9 percent (30-of-64) of its shots. St. Ben's claimed a 45-32 advantage on the boards but the Auggies won the turnover battle, forcing 21 while only committing 18.

Augsburg and St. Benedict both return to action on Saturday (2/13) with Augsburg traveling to Carleton, and St. Ben's traveling to Concordia-St. Paul to take on the St. Thomas.
