Auggies earn sweep at Crown

ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn.-- Colleen Ourada (SO, Omaha, Neb./Mercy HS) recorded a match-high 19 kills and a team-high .381 hitting percentage, as the Augsburg College volleyball team completed a three-set sweep of Crown College on Tuesday night at the Wild Athletic Center.

Both teams traded leads throughout the first set before the Auggies (13-8 overall, 5-2 MIAC) were able to pull away late en route to a 25-22 win. Augsburg pulled out to an early lead in the second set and never looked back, claiming a 25-14 victory.

Crown (7-12 overall, 2-7 UMAC) jumped out to a quick lead in the third set, before Augsburg raliied to a 25-21 win to earn its seventh three-set sweep of the season.

Ourada's 19 kills overall, including 10 in the first set, led all scorers during the match. Ourada is currently ranked third in the MIAC in kills recorded per-game this season with 3.69.

Emily McCourt (SO, Sun Prairie, Wis.) recorded 36 assists and a team-high two service aces in the match. McCourt is currently ranked second in the conference in assists per-set this season with 11.15.

Micha Sater (JR, Fridley, Minn./Centennial HS) recorded 12 kills and seven digs, while Tabby Roh (FY, La Crosse, Wis./Central HS) recorded eight kills and a service ace in the match. Katelyn Berens (SO, Jordan, Minn./Prior Lake HS) recorded 11 digs in the match, while Mackensie Menke (FY, Prior Lake, Minn./Shakopee HS) added six digs.

Augsburg returns to Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action this weekend with two home contests at Si Melby Hall, first against St. Olaf College on Friday (10/21) at 7 p.m., followed by a Saturday (10/22) match at 5 p.m. against No. 11-ranked University of St. Thomas.
