Emily McCourt (SO, Sun Prairie, Wis.) recorded 26 assists and five kills, but the Augsburg College volleyball team fell to No. 11-ranked University of St. Thomas in four sets (25-18, 20-25, 25-12, 25-18) in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference match on Saturday evening at Si Melby Hall.
Augsburg (14-9 overall, 6-3 MIAC) was able to take the second set from St. Thomas (26-3 overall, 8-1 MIAC), but was unable to capitalize on the momentum as the Tommies pulled away in sets three and four.
McCourt recorded 26 assists, five kills, and six digs to go along with four blocks in the match.
Colleen Ourada (SO, Omaha, Neb./Mercy HS) recorded a team-high 10 kills, as well as 16 digs and eight blocks for Augsburg, while
Tabby Roh (FY, La Crosse, Wis./Central HS) recorded six kills and seven blocks.
Nikolene Miller (JR, Tomahawk, Wis.) and
Jamila Lee (JR, Richfield, Minn.) had five kills each for Augsburg, while
Maggie Zirk (JR, Dassel, Minn.) finished the match with four kills. Lee also had six blocks for the Auggies. Augsburg had 14 team blocks in the match.
Katelyn Berens (SO, Jordan, Minn./Prior Lake HS) finished with a team-high 17 digs, while
Mackensie Menke (FY, Prior Lake, Minn./Shakopee HS) recorded 10 digs in the match.
The Auggies travel to Moorhead, Minn., on Wednesday (10/26) at 7 p.m. for a road match against Concordia College, before returning home for the team's final home contest of the regular season on Friday (10/28) at 7 p.m. against Hamline at Si Melby Hall.
