ARDEN HILLS, Minn. -- Emily McCourt (SO, Sun Prairie, Wis.) recorded a career-best 56 assists, as the Augsburg College volleyball team won a thrilling come-from-behind, five-set match (12-25, 25-18, 21-25, 25-21, 18-16) against Bethel University in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference play on Wednesday evening at the Robertson Center.

Augsburg (8-5 overall, 3-1 MIAC) rallied from a four-point deficit late in the fifth set and scored seven of the final 10 points of the match to give the Royals (11-5 overall, 3-1 MIAC) their first conference defeat of the season. The Augsburg victory broke an 11-match home winning streak for Bethel dating back to last season, and marks the first Augsburg win at the Robertson Center since the 2007 season.

"This is definitely one of the biggest wins we've had since I've been at Augsburg," said head coach Jane Becker. "Bethel is a really good team and I am so proud of how hard we fought late in the match to earn the win. We obviously got off to a rough start in the first game, but hung tough and were able to pick up a big win on the road."

Colleen Ourada (SO, Omaha, Neb./Mercy HS) recorded a career-best 27 kills and seven blocks for Augsburg, while recording a hitting percentage of .273 in the match. The 27 kills marks the highest individual single-game kill total for Augsburg since Laura Harms recorded 29 against Nebraska Wesleyan during the 2008 season. Ourada is currently ranked ninth in the conference in kills-per-set during the 2011 conference season.

Joining McCourt and Ourada on the Augsburg offensive attack were Nikolene Miller (JR, Tomahawk, Wis.) Jamila Lee (JR, Richfield, Minn.) and Tabby Roh (FY, La Crosse, Wis./Central HS). Miller recorded 12 kills and a .233 hitting percentage, while Lee and Roh recorded eight and seven kills, respectively.

Roh added a team-high 10 blocks in the match, while Lee and Miller added six and four blocks each.

Maggie Zirk (JR, Dassel, Minn./Dassel-Cokato HS) contributed five kills and five blocks for the Auggies in the win.

In the back row, Micha Sater (JR, Fridley, Minn./Centennial HS) recorded a career-best 23 digs, while defensive specialist Mackensie Menke (FY, Prior Lake, Minn./Shakopee HS) and Katelyn Berens (SO, Jordan, Minn./Prior Lake HS) added 20 and 19, respectively. McCourt and Amy Jo Opsal (SR, North Mankato, Minn./St. Clair HS) each recorded 15 digs for Augsburg as well.

The Auggies return to action this Friday evening with a road contest against the University of Wisconsin-Stout. The match is scheduled to start at 7 p.m. and will have a live video feed available.
