BOXSCORE BOXSCORE
DUBUQUE, Iowa -- Goalkeeper
Katie Gajewski (SO, Wausau, Wis./Wausau East HS) collected five saves in goal for Augsburg College, but two Loras College goals in the final 10-and-a-half minutes gave the host Duhawks a 2-0 win over the Auggies in a nonconference women's soccer game on Friday evening at the Rock Bowl.
Madeline Tennant scored on a redirected corner kick in the 80th minute, and Danielle Vujovic scored for Loras (8-2-0 overall) in the 84th minute.
Augsburg (4-5-0 overall) was outshot by a 22-5 margin.
Bri Felton (FY, Fridley, Minn.) and
Molly Allen (FY, Stillwater, Minn.) had two shots each for the Auggies.
"Despite the loss, there were a lot of positives that came from our game tonight. We started seven underclassmen tonight and they all played well," said Augsburg head coach
Mike Navarre. "Loras is a great team and we knew it would be tough. Unfortunately we gave up an own goal in the 80th minute. We created some great chances but were unable to finish them."
Augsburg returns to action on Tuesday (10/4) at 3:30 p.m. with a nonconference game at Minnesota-Morris.
"I know we'll be hungry to play Minnesota-Morris on Tuesday, and I expect us to finish the chances that we have been unable to finish this week," Navarre said.
