AUGSBURG 2012 SEASON PREVIEW
WHITEWATER, Wis.-- The Augsburg College volleyball team opened the 2012 season at the
University of Wisconsin-Whitewater Invitational on Friday and Saturday. After dropping their first match of the tournament to No. 17-ranked tournament host Wisconsin-Whitewater, Augsburg rattled off three consecutive wins against Wheaton College (Ill.), Central College (Iowa) and Wisconsin-Oshkosh.

Ashley Peper (FY, Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson HS) recorded a team-high eight kills in her collegiate debut, but the Augsburg volleyball team fell in three sets to tournament host Wisconsin-Whitewater. In addition to her eight kills, Peper added five digs and two assists in the match.
Nikolene Miller (SR, Tomahawk, Wis.) added seven kills and hit .294, while
Colleen Ourada (JR, Omaha, Neb./Mercy HS) recorded a team-high eight digs to go along with five kills.
Emily McCourt (JR, Sun Prairie, Wis.) recorded team-highs in assists with 26 and aces with three.
Other top performers for the Auggies included middle hitter
Tabby Roh (SO, LaCrosse, Wis./Central HS), who recorded five kills with a hitting percentage of .273, and defensive specialist
Mackensie Menke (SO, Prior Lake, Minn./Shakopee HS), who tied Ourada with a team-high eight digs.
Carloine Langer (SR, Menomonee Falls, Wis./Milwaukee Pius XI) and Leanna Lillage (JR, Ixonia, Wis./Watertown HS) combined for 22 kills to lead the No. 17-ranked Warhawks, who earned WIAC regular and post-season titles in 2011.

Tabby Roh (SO, La Crosse, Wis./Central HS) claimed 11 kills and hit .555 (one error in 18 attempts), leading Augsburg in a three-set sweep of Wheaton (Ill.) in Friday's second match.
Colleen Ourada (JR, Omaha, Neb./Mercy HS) claimed nine kills and hit .318, and
Ashley Peper (FY, Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson HS) had six kills and two blocks (one solo).
Nikolene Miller (SR, Tomahawk, Wis.) had four blocks (two solo) to go along with three kills, while
Emily McCourt (JR, Sun Prairie, Wis.) had 27 assists and three blocks (two solo).

Emily McCourt (JR, Sun Prairie, Wis.) recorded a season-high 35 assists to lead Augsburg in a three-set sweep of Central College (Iowa) on Saturday morning.
Roh matched her previous season-high with 11 kills and hit .500 (one error in 20 attempts) while Ourada recorded 10 kills and hit .333. Micah Sater (SR, Fridley, Minn./Centennial HS) and

Colleen Ourada (JR, Omaha, Neb./Mercy HS) collected a double-double with 19 kills, 16 digs and four blocks (one solo), leading Augsburg to its third win on the weekend, a four-set win over Wisconsin-Oshkosh. Ourada hit .315 and added two service aces in the victory.
Ourada was one of three Auggies to record double-digit kill totals in the victory --
Nikolene Miller (SR, Tomahawk, Wis.) had 12 kills, hitting .370, while adding seven blocks (two solo).
Ashley Peper (FY, Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson HS) had 10 kills and three blocks (one solo).
Setter
Emily McCourt (JR, Sun Prairie, Wis.) had 47 assists, two service aces and two block assists in the victory, while
Mackensie Menke (SO, Prior Lake, Minn./Shakopee HS) had 14 digs. Micah Sater (SR, Fridley, Minn./Centennial HS) recorded five kills with 11 digs and a block assist,
