MEET RESULTS
MINNEAPOLIS--
Micheale Tesema (JR, Burnsville, Minn.) ran a career-best time and outraced the rest of the field to claim a first-place finish at the Augsburg Triangular Meet Saturday morning at Riverside Park. Bethel University and St. Olaf College also participated in the meet, which was hosted blocks from the Augsburg campus.
An MIAC All-Conference performer in 2011, Tesema shattered his previous personal-best time in the 5,000 meter race, as he recorded a time of 15:36 to comfortably claim victory. The win marks Tesema's first-ever first-place finish at Augsburg.
Other top Augsburg performers included
Luke Iverson (So, Maple Grove, Minn.) who finished in 17th-place with a time of 17:19. Iverson's time marks a 30-second improvement from his performance at the Augsburg Meet last season.
Newcomer
Zach Richards (FY, Saginaw, Mich./Albrook HS) finished in 23rd-place, as he recorded a time of 18:02.
