BOXSCORE WINONA, Minn.--
Ashley Peper (FY, Bloominton, Minn./Jefferson HS) recorded 15 kills and 17 digs to lead the Augsburg College volleyball team to a four-set win Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference win over the Saint Mary's University Cardinals Saturday afternoon.
Peper, who ranks eighth in the MIAC with a 3.05 kills-per-set average, recorded her third consecutive double double on Saturday to lead the Auggies (9-6 overall, 1-1 MIAC) to the win. Peper hit a team high .214 for the match, and lead the Auggies in hitting percentage for the sixth time this season.
Augsburg jumped out to a quick 6-2 lead early in set number one, and led 19-17 late in the set before the Cardinals (7-5 overall, 2-1 MIAC) made a late run to even the score at 23-23. The Auggies safely defended off two St. Mary's match points and were able to pull out a 28-26 win to take an early lead in the match.
Saint Mary's responded with a win in the second set, as they led wire to wire en route to a 25-19 win. Both teams traded leads early in the third set before the Auggies pulled away late to earn a 25-17 victory. The Auggies would close out the fourth set by a score of 25-19 to earn their first conference win of the season and end the Cardinals four-match win streak.
Micah Sater (SR, Fridley, Minn./Centennial HS) also recorded a double double for the Auggies with 11 kills and 12 digs, while
Nikolene Miller (SR, Tomahawk, Wis.) recorded eight kills and four blocks in the match.
Jamila Lee (Sr, Richfield, Minn.) added six kills and four blocks (one solo), while
Tabby Roh (SO, LaCrosse, Wis./Central HS) recorded seven kills and a team-high seven blocks (two solo) in her first game action since the Auggie Invitational two weeks ago.

Emily McCourt recorded a match-best 41 assists and 13 digs in the match, while defensive specialist
Emma Sievers (SO, St. Paul, Minn./Cretin Derham Hall) matched Peper with 17 digs in the match.
The Auggies return to action this Wednesday (9/26) when they travel to St. Paul, Minn. to take on St. Catherine at 7 p.m..
