Coach Aaron Griess' halftime talk lit a fire in the Auggies, and they came out and shot 70.4 percent (19-of-27) from the field in the second half.

Augsburg's second-half rally was brought to a halt as Carleton hit 12-of-13 from the free-throw line in the final 4:44 of play to hang on for the win over the Auggies.

For the game, Augsburg outshot Carleton 52.6 percent (30-of-57) to 47.4 percent (27-of-57) from the field. The Auggies claimed a 32-29 advantage on the boards and a 15-4 advantage in bench scoring but the big difference in the game game down to the free throw line, where the Knights were able to hit 15-of-19 and the Auggies were only able to convert on 2-of-5.
