Auggies triumphant in Iowa

BOXSCORE 1 | BOXSCORE 2 WAVERLY, Iowa. -- The Augsburg College volleyball team traveled to Iowa to compete in the Wartburg Quad against Coe and host Wartburg. The two matches, sandwiched between tough Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference games, were great matchups between some of the top teams in the region. The No. 24 ranked Auggies beat Coe College in three sets in the early match, and followed it up with a five-set victory over Wartburg. Colleen Ourada (SR, Omaha, Neb./Mercy HS) and Ashley Peper (JR, Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson HS) combined for 77 kills -- Ourada with 40 and Peper with 37 -- leading the Auggies to the two wins.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Ourada and Peper led the Auggie attack, both recording kill-dig double-doubles agaist Wartburg -- Ourada with 22 kills and 21 digs, while Peper recorded 20 kills and 13 digs. Ourada hit .388 with just three attack errors in 49 attempts.  It was Peper's seventh kill-dig double-double of the season and fifth in her last six matches. Peper hit .237, with six errors in a match-high 59 attack attempts.
• Libero Mackensie Menke (SR, Prior Lake, Minn./Shakopee HS) recorded 50 digs and the two matches, and claimed a career best 30 digs, while also contributing a service ace, and a kill against Wartburg.

• Setter Courtney Lemke (SO, Brownton, Minn./Glencoe-Silver Lake HS) recorded 105 assists and 25 digs over the weekend claiming her seventh assist-dig double-double of the season, with a career-high 66 assists, to go along with 16 digs in the five-set victory over Wartburg.
•  In the Wartburg match, Jessica Lillquist (JR, Sebeka, Minn.) recorded 12 kills and one block for the Auggies, with a .281 attack percentage. Taylor Linn (FY, Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View HS) recorded a career-high 10 kills with a .471 attack percentage, to go along with two blocks (one solo). Jaelyn Arndt (SO, Minneapolis, Minn./Washburn HS) had eight kills and three digs, with a .312 attack percentage, and DeeDee Maier (SO, Middleton, Wis.) had 16 digs and a service ace.


BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• Ourada's 22-kill, 21-dig performance marked her second career 20-kill, 20-dig performance -- her first was three matches ago against Carleton. It's her 43rd career kill-dig double-double.
• Peper recorded her 32nd career kill-dig double-double and 10th match with 20 or more kills in her career.
• Over the weekend, the Auggies hit .289 as a team, with 30 attack errors in 318 attempts, while their opponents hit .215 with 34 errors in 331 attempts. 


FOR THE FOES
• For Wartburg, Bailey Wilson recorded 18 kills, while Claire Willenbring chipped in 11 kills. Jamie Farley had 24 digs, while Karly Brown had 14. Kalyn Ertz recroded nine kills, six digs and four blocks. Krystal Graves and Kaity Brouwer both recorded nine kills as well. Maria Brown dished out 30 assists and Emma Harmeyer had 25 assists.
• For Coe, Rachel Schaefer recorded 16 kills, while Rachel Bosworth had10 kills.  Both Alissa Witenburg and Mackenzie harbaugh had 12 digs.
