Auggies pull away for 7-3 win at UW-Stout

MENOMONIE, Wis. -- Mack Ohnsted (JR, Vernon Hills, Ill./Adali E. Stevenson HS), Ben McClellan (SR, Cottage Grove, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall HS) and Drew Anderson (FY, Rochester, Minn./Century HS) scored two goals each, leading Augsburg College to a 7-3 victory over the University of Wisconsin-Stout in a nonconference men's hockey game on Friday evening at the Dunn County Ice Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg built a 3-0 lead after two periods, then scored four straight goals in a 5:10 span to pull away from the host Blue Devils.
• Ohnsted scored two goals and added two assists for a four-point night, while Anderson had two goals and an assist, and McClellan scored two goals in a 1:24 span in the third period.
• Corbin Chapman (SO, Burnsville, Min.) scored the other Auggie goal -- the first Auggie goal of the third period -- and added two assists.
• Lucas Hendrickson (JR, Savage, Minn./Burnsville HS) claimed two assists in the game, while Zach Dick (SR, Grand Rapids, Minn.), Rory Vesel (SO, Rochester, Minn./Lourdes HS), Dylan Meier (SO, Highlands Ranch, Colo./Mountain Vista HS), Brett Bukowski (FY, Superior, Wis.), Evan Hesse (FY, Monticello, Minn./Palmer (Alaska) HS) and Max Pernhem (FY, Stockholm, Sweden/Dragonskolan) also had assists.

• Augsburg outshot UW-Stout by a 46-21 margin, including a 22-3 advantage in the second period.
• John Bretzman (SR, Mendota Heights, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran HS) had 18 saves in goal for the Auggies.


FOR THE FOES
• Patrick Regan, Danny Ray and Matt Mills scored goals for UW-Stout, all in the third period.
• Jordan Tredinnick had two assists for the Blue Devils.
• Chase Hollander started in goal and had 35 saves for the Blue Devils before being pulled in the third period for Gustav Griborn, who had four savs in relief.
