UWRF rallies in 3rd period for win over Auggies

RIVER FALLS, Wis. -- Augsburg College built a 3-2 lead after two periods, but the University of Wisconsin-River Falls scored three goals in the third period to rally for a 5-3 win in a nonconference men's hockey game on Saturday evening at Hunt Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg scored three goals in the second period to take a 3-2 lead going into the final stanza.
• Zach Dick (SR, Grand Rapids, Minn.) scord from Lucas Hendrickson (JR, Savage, Minn./Burnsville HS) and Nate Flynn (FY, Hastings, Minn.) on the power play at the 3:09 mark of the second period, followed at the 7:02 mark by a goal from Dylan Meier (SO, Highlands Ranch, Colo./Mountain Vista HS), assisted by Evan Hesse (FY, Monticello, Minn./Palmer (Alaska) HS) and Max Pernhem (FY, Stockholm, Sweden/Dragonskolan)
• Gunnar Regan (SO, Waconia, Minn./St. Thomas Academy HS) scored his first goal as an Auggie at the 12:04 mark, assisted by Eli May (FY, Eagan, Minn.).

• Augsburg outshot UW-River Falls by a 31-22 mark in the game. Hendrickson had five shots on-goal, while Dick had four shots.
• John Bretzman (SR, Mendota Heights, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran HS) had 17 saves in goal for the Auggies.


FOR THE FOES
• Terry Leabo had a goal and two assists for the Falcons, while Alex Murphy, Taylor Burden and Kyle Gattelaro had a goal and assist each. Blake Huppert scored the other Falcon goal, and Ryan Doner had two assists.
• Tanner Milliron had 28 saves in goal for UW-River Falls.
