Auggies take 3 of 4 points from Bethel with 2-0 win

BLAINE, Minn. -- Rachel Hennessy (SR, Williston, N.D.) and Megan Robertson (FY, Boissevain, Manitoba) scored second-period goals, and Erika Allen (JR, Roseville, Minn.) stopped all 32 shots she faced in goal for her first shutout in an Augsburg College uniform, as the Auggies claimed a 2-0 victory over host Bethel University in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's hockey game on Saturday afternoon at the Schwan Super Rink.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Allen, who transferred to Augsburg this season after playing her first two years at Bethel, claimed her seventh career shutout and first as an Auggie with her 32-save performance. She had 59 saves on 60 shots she faced on the weekend. 
• Augsburg took three of four points from Bethel, the No. 10-ranked team in the latest U.S. College Hockey Online Division III national poll, in the MIAC-opening series for both teams. The teams played to a 1-1, overtime tie on Friday.
Halie Gudmonson (SO, Albertville, Minn./St. Michael-Albertville HS) assisted on both Auggie goals -- a goal from Hennessy 52 seconds into the second period, and a goal by Robertson at the 9:56 mark of the frame.
• Hennessy scored her third goal of the season and 43rd of her career, while Robertson scored her first collegiate goal.
• Gudmonson had four shots on-goal in the game, while Kayla Fuechtmann (JR, Circle Pines, Minn./Centennial HS) and Claire Cripps (JR, Hutchinson, Minn.) had three shots each.


FOR THE FOES
• Michelle Klimstra had 17 saves in goal for Bethel.
• Kathryn Larson had seven shots on-goal for the Royal, while Briita Nelson had five shots.

• Augsburg faces St. Catherine in an MIAC series next Friday and Saturday (11/21-22), hosting the Wildcats on Friday at 7 p.m. at Ed Saugestad Rink.
