CLAREMONT, Calif.. -- Abbey Luger (SR, Oakdale, Minn./North St. Paul HS) scored 12 points and added six rebounds to lead Augsburg College in a 50-40 loss to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in nonconference women's basketball action on Friday afternoon.

RECORDS: Augsburg 3-2 overall, CMS 1-2 overallHOW IT HAPPENED• The Augsburg women's basketball team trailed by just one point at the intermission and was able to take a 37-31 lead with just over six minutes remaining but the Auggies were held to just one 3-point basket over the remainder of the contest and fell 50-40 to Claremont-Mudd-Scripps.
• The Auggies struggled offensively and were only able to connect on 26.8 percent (15-of-56) from the field and 31.8 percent (7-of-22) from 3-point range.
• Luger continues to lead the Auggies offensively, posting 12 points, while adding six rebounds and three steals. Luger has scored in double figures in four of the teams five games this season.
• Jenna Orth (JR, Melrose, Minn./Melrose HS) picked up a game and season-high eight steals on the afternoon. Orth currently has a team-high 24 steals on the season.
• The Auggies won the turnover battle, forcing 20 CMS turnovers, while only committing 12. Augsburg picked up 16 steals on the afternoon and have now recorded 12 or more steals in every game this season.FOR THE FOES• CMS was led offensively by Kyra Ray, who scored 13 points and added a pair of assists.
