Auggies complete sweep, rally for 5-2 win

MINNEAPOLIS -- Mack Ohnsted (JR, Vernon Hills, Ill./Adali E. Stevenson HS) scored two third-period goals, as the Augsburg College men's hockey team rallied from a 2-0 deficit with five straight goals, claiming a 5-2 win over Bethel University to complete a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men's hockey series sweep on Saturday evening at Ed Saugestad Rink.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg trailed 2-0 six minutes into the second period, but scored three goals in a 3:17 span to take the lead for good.
• Rory Vesel (SO, Rochester, Minn./Lourdes HS) scored from Ben McClellan (SR, Cottage Grove, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall HS) and Evan Hesse (FY, Monticello, Minn./Palmer (Alaska) HS) just 47 seconds after the Royals had scored their second goal.
• Lucas Hendrickson (JR, Savage, Minn./Burnsville HS) tied the game for the Auggies at the 7:56 mark, scoring from Sean Kalbak (FY, Camarillo, Calif.) and Will Peterson (FY, Eagan, Minn.).
• Dylan Meier (SO, Highlands Ranch, Colo./Mountain Vista HS) completed the three-goal stretch with a goal from McClellan and Max Pernhem (FY, Stockholm, Sweden/Dragonskolan) at the 10:04 mark.
• Ohnsted added to the Auggie lead with two goals in a 3:13 span in the third period, scoring a shorthanded goal from Corbin Chapman (SO, Burnsville, Minn.) at the 10:41 mark and capping the scoring with a goal from Zach Dick (SR, Grand Rapids, Minn.) and Chapman at the 13:54 mark.
• Fredrik Melander (SO, Uppsala, Sweden/Trinity-Pawling Prep (N.Y.) HS) had 16 saves in goal for the Auggies in the win.
