Auggies claim 6-5 overtime win at Saint John's

ST. CLOUD, Minn. -- Mack Ohnsted (JR, Vernon Hills, Ill./Adali E. Stevenson HS) scored the game-winning goal on a shorthanded marker 2:30 into overtime, giving Augsburg College a 6-5 win over host Saint John's University in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men's hockey game on Friday evening at the National Hockey Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Ohnsted scored from Corbin Chapman (SO, Burnsville, Minn.) 10 seconds before the end of a Johnnie power play in overtime, his team-leading seventh goal of the season and third game-winning goal of the campaign.
• Zach Dick (SR, Grand Rapids, Minn.) scored two goals for the Auggies, while Chapman, Dylan Meier (SO, Highlands Ranch, Colo./Mountain Vista HS) and Ben McClellan (SR, Cottage Grove, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall HS) had two assists each.
• The teams traded goals throughout the game before Ohnsted's game-winner.
• Rory Vesel (SO, Rochester, Minn./Lourdes HS) scored just 57 seconds into the game for the Auggies, assisted by Meier, and Dick scored for the Auggies at the 12:08 mark of the first period, assisted by Chapman and Meier.
• In the second period, Nate Flynn (FY, Hastings, Minn.) scored 52 seconds into play, assisted by Eli May (FY, Eagan, Minn.) and Brett Bukowski (FY, Superior, Wis.). Drew Anderson () scored for the Auggies at the 6:42 mark, assisted by Lucas Hendrickson (JR, Savage, Minn./Burnsville HS) and McClellan.
