Auggies drop 4-2 decision to No. 13 Saint John's

MINNEAPOLIS -- Mack Ohnsted (JR, Vernon Hills, Ill./Adali E. Stevenson HS) and Corbin Chapman (SO, Burnsville, Minn.) had a goal and assist each for Augsburg College, but No. 13-ranked Saint John's University scored the final two goals of the game to claim a 4-2 win in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men's hockey game on Saturday evening at Ed Saugestad Rink.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Ohnsted trimmed the Johnnie lead to 2-1 with a power-play goal at the 3:36 mark of the second period, assisted by Zach Dick (SR, Grand Rapids, Minn.) and Chapman.
• Chapman scored his fourth goal of the season at the 14:28 mark of the second period, scoring from Ohnsted and Daniel Hildebrandt (SR, Monument, Colo./Pine Creek HS).
• Augsburg outshot Saint John's by a 36-24 mark in the game.
Evan Hesse (FY, Monticello, Minn./Palmer (Alaska) HS) had six shots on-goal for the Auggies, while Ohnsted and Chapman had five shots each.
• Augsburg goalie John Bretzman (SR, Mendota Heights, Minn./St. Croix Lutheran HS) had 20 saves.

• Ohnsted is now tied for first among MIAC players in overall statistics in both total points (14) and goals (8). His six assists are tied for 10th-best among MIAC players.
