BOXSCORE 4 AUGSBURG INVITATIONAL PAGEMINNEAPOLIS -- The Augsburg College volleyball team closed out its 33rd annual Augsburg Invitational with two sweeps on Saturday to finish with a 4-0 record during the weekend. The Auggies defeated Wisconsin-La Crosse 3-0 Saturday to begin the day, before closing the event with another sweep against Wisconsin-Eau Claire, who had just beaten No. 4 University of St. Thomas in four sets. On Friday, the Auggies scored a 3-1 win over University of Northwestern-St.Paul, and followed it up with a sweep of Wisconsin-Superior in the nightcap.Â
Courtney Lemke (SO, Brownton, Minn./Glencoe-Silver Lake HS) earned All-Tournament Team honors with a strong performance directing the Auggie offense as she recorded 154 assists (11.85/set).
Mackensie Menke (SR, Prior Lake, Minn./Shakopee HS) was also named to the All-Tournament Team as she recorded a team-best 70 digs (5.38/set).Â
Ashley Peper (JR, Bloomington, Minn./Jefferson HS) recorded a team-high 52 kills (4.00/set), while hitting .281.
Colleen Ourada (SR, Omaha, Neb./Mercy HS) finished second on the team in kills with 44 (3.38/set), added a team-best 15 blocks (two solo), and was second on the team in digs with 61.Â

Friday, Sept. 5
Augsburg def. University of Northwestern-St. Paul 3-1 (25-18, 25-21, 15-25, 25-23)BOXSCOREFor the second weekend in a row the Augsburg College volleyball team defeated the the University of Northwestern-St.Paul in convincing fashion. Augsburg was led by two monster games from
Colleen Ourada and
Ashley Peper, who both recorded kill-dig double doubles. Ourada compiled 15 kills and 20 digs and six blocks (one solo), while Peper chipped in 16 kills and 12 digs.
Ellen Sachs (SO, Minneapolis, Minn./Washburn HS) was close to making it a trio of Auggies to record kill-dig double doubles, but she came up just shy with eight kills and 17 digs.Â
Setter
Courtney Lemke dished out 44 assists, while adding 13 digs and two kills.
Jessica Lillquist (JR, Sebeka, Minn.) recorded seven kills, while defensive specialist
Mackensie Menke (SR, Prior Lake, Minn./Shakopee HS) recorded 24 digs.Â
The Eagles were led by Lindsey Peterson who finished with 15 kills and 20 digs, while their setter Lizzy Jonas recorded a match-high 47 assists.Â
Augsburg def. UW-Superior 3-0 (25-23, 25-19, 25-14)BOXSCOREEllen Sachs just missed a kill-dig double double in Augsburg's first match, and she would not be denied in its second as Sachs recorded a match-best 16 kills, striking at a blistering .433 hitting percentage, while adding 11 digs.
Ashley Peper was the only other Auggie in double digits because of the three game sweep and a well-rounded attack, as she finished with 10 kills and four blocks.
Taylor Linn (FY, Shoreview, Minn./Mounds View HS) was solid defensively denying six Yellowjacket attacks. Linn also chipped in two kills and two service aces.
Courtney Lemke finished with a match-high 37 assists, adding four digs and two kills, while Ourada finished with nine digs and team-high 16 digs.Â
UW-Superior just could not get it going offensively, finishing with a .081 hitting percentage for the match, and no Yellowjacket finished with more than seven kills. Keely Deadrick recorded 28 assists and five digs as the lone bright spot. Defensive specialist Chelsey Walerius chipped in a match-high 20 digs as well. Â

Saturday, Sept. 6
Augsburg def. UW-Lacrosse 3-0 (25-16, 28-26, 25-9)BOXSCOREThe Auggies used great team defense and capatilized on UW-Lacrosse miscues to earn a three-game sweep. The Auggies ten team blocks and 25 hitting erros contributed to a .008 team hitting percentage for Lacrosse. Augsburg finished with a .218 team hitting percentage and in the third set recorded a match-best .476.Â
Ashley Peper led the Auggie attack with 10 kills, while
Colleen Ourada and
Jessica Lillquist (JR, Sebeka, Minn.) added eight and seven respectively. Ourada also added 10 digs, while
Mackensie Menke and
DeeDee Maier (SO, Middleton, Wis.) recorded 21 and 15 digs respectively. As a team, the Auggies recorded five services aces, and Maier finished with two of those.Â
Lillquist recorded a match-best five blocks, while
Taylor Linn and Ourada each finishd with four.
Courtney Lemke finished 31 assists, eight digs and a kill. Two Auggies hitters, Linn and
Jaelyn Arndt (SO, Minneapolis, Minn./Washburn HS) finished with a match best .400 hitting percentage, with Linn finishing with five kills and Arndt recorded three.Â
Augsburg def. UW-Eau Claire 3-0 (25-11, 25-15, 28-26)BOXSCOREAshley Peper led the Auggie attack and helped Augsburg College claim a three-game sweep to move to 4-0 in its own tournament Saturday afternoon with a 16 kill 10 dig performance.
Colleen Ourada also recorded a kill-dig double double finishing with 12 kills and 15 digs.
Mackensie Menke anchored the Auggie backline all tournament long and recorded a match-best 17 digs in their last game of the tournament.
Jessica Lillquist reached double digit kills for the first time in the tournament finishing with 10, while also chipping in three blocks.
The potent Augsburg offensive attack is running smoothly with second year setter
Courtney Lemke directing the action, as she dished out a match-best 42 assists. Lemke added nine digs and two kills, while
DeeDee Maier continued her strong tournament showing with 16 digs and a service ace. Â Â
The Auggies return to action Wednesday (9/10) when the University of Wisconsin-Stout travels to Minneapolis for a 7 p.m. start in Si Melby Hall.Â
