Auggies fall to Bethel

MINNEAPOLIS -- Joey Sonnenfeld (JR, Maple Grove, Minn./Osseo HS) scored a season-high 12 points but it wasn't enough to keep up with a hot shooting Bethel University team as the Augsburg College men's basketball team dropped an 83-60 contest in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Bethel led from start to finish on a cold shooting afternoon for the Auggies.
Parker Hines (SR, Lakeville, Minn./Minnehaha Academy HS) recorded a team-high 16 points, while adding four rebounds, and a pair of assists and steals.
• Sonnenfeld provided a nice spark for the Auggies, coming off the bench to score 12 points on 4-of-5 shooting from the floor and a perfect 4-for-4 afternoon at the free throw line.
Brett Rasmussen (SO, Lakeville, Minn./Lakeville North HS) led Augsburg on the boards, pulling down five rebounds, while adding seven points.
• Augsburg outscored Bethel 18-10 in points off turnovers and 24-18 in bench scoring.

• For the game, Augsburg shot 37.0 percent (20-of-54) from the field and just 30.0 percent (6-of-20) from three-point range.

FOR THE FOES
• Bethel finished with four players in double figures led by Kyle Zimmermann, who posted a 21-point, 13-rebound double-double.
