Auggies drop 3-0 decision at Gustavus

ST. PETER, Minn. -- Two goals in a 50-second span in the second period gave Gustavus Adolphus College a 2-0 advantage, en route to a 3-0 win over visiting Augsburg College in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men's hockey game on Saturday evening at Don Roberts Ice Rink.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg was outshot by a 32-26 margin by Gustavus.
• Augsburg goalie Fredrik Melander (SO, Uppsala, Sweden/Trinity-Pawling Prep (N.Y.) HS) had 29 saves.
• Will Peterson (FY, Eagan, Minn.), Nate Flynn (FY, Hastings, Minn.) and Eli May (FY, Eagan, Minn.) had four shots on-goal each for Augsburg, while Dylan Meier (SO, Highlands Ranch, Colo./Mountain Vista HS) had three shots.

FOR THE FOES
• Gustavus scored two goals in a 50-second span in the second period -- Darren Lapic from Jake McCann and Cory Ellis at the 16:03 mark, and Tyler Lapic from Sam Majka and Schyler Adams at the 16:53 mark.
• Conor Deal capped the scoring for the Gusties with an empty-net goal with 34 seconds left in the game.
