Auggies fall to hot-shooting Johnnies

COLLEGEVILLE, Minn. -- Coming off the bench, Collin Olmscheid (FY, Buffalo, Minn.) scored 18 points and Joey Sonnenfeld (JR, Maple Grove, Minn./Osseo HS) scored 16 points, leading Augsburg College in a 92-75 loss to Saint John's University in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men's basketball game on Monday evening at Sexton Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Olmscheid and Sonnenfeld led an Auggie bench that outscored the team's starters by a 50-25 margin in the game.
• Olmscheid scored 18 points on 7-of-10 shooting, including 4-of-5 from three-point range, and pulled down five rebounds in 28 minutes of play.
• Sonnenfeld scored 16 points on 5-of-7 from the field, including 5-of-5 from the free throw line, adding an assist in 20 minutes of play.
• The Auggies scored the opening bucket of the game but the Johnnies went on to make eight of their first nine shots from the field and never looked back. 
• Augsburg connected on 46.6 percent (27-of-58) from the field, while Saint John's shot 62.1 percent (36-of-58) from the field.

FOR THE FOES
• Mitchell Kuck led all players with a 27 points, while Alex Schmitt added 19 points.
• Jacob Peterson led all players with nine rebounds.
