Strong second half leads to Auggie win over SMU

MINNEAPOLIS -- Parker Hines (SR, Lakeville, Minn./Minnehaha Academy HS) led the Auggies with 22 points in a 73-58 victory over Saint Mary's University in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men's basketball game on Saturday afternoon at Si Melby Hall.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• After trailing four at the half, the Auggie offense found its rythm and was able to use a key 11-0 run mid-way through the half to gain the momentum and a lead they would not relinquish.
• Hines led all players with 22 points on an 8-of-14 shooting afternoon. Hines added a game-high nine assists and four steals.
• Collin Olmscheid (FY, Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo HS) led the Auggies on the boards, pulling down eight rebounds while adding nine points and three steals.
• Augsburg was able to outscore SMU 32-24 in points in the paint and 23-8 in bench scoring.

• Augsburg claimed a 35-31 advantage on the boards.
• Augsburg shot 46.3 percent (25-of-54) from the field, while Saint Mary's shot 44.0 percent (22-of-50) from the field.


FOR THE FOES
• Saint Mary's finished with three players in double figures led by Will Swiggum, who finished with 14 points and six rebounds.
