scored a season-high 19 points to lead the Augsburg College women's basketball team to a key 74-54 victory over St. Catherine University in Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon.THE BASICSFINAL SCORE: Augsburg College 74, St. Catherine University 54LOCATION: Butler Center, St. Paul, Minn.
RECORDS: Augsburg 2-2 MIAC (7-4 overall), St. Catherine 1-3 MIAC (6-5 overall)HOW IT HAPPENED• Augsburg used a key 14-2 run late in the first half to take a 42-32 lead into the locker room at the intermission. The Auggies were able to extend their lead to as many as 22 points in the second half before cruising on to the 74-54 win.
• Lillquist scored her season-high 19 points on a 7-of-13 afternoon. She also added three rebounds, three assists and a pair of steals.
• Abbey Luger (SR, Oakdale, Minn./North St. Paul HS) posted a 14-point, 10-rebound double-double, the second of her career. Luger also recorded six assists and is currently tied for second in the MIAC in assists per-game, averaging 4.1 agp.
• Also finishing in double figures for the Auggies was Bridget Bednar (FY, Pierz, Minn./Pierz HS) and Jenna Orth (JR, Melrose, Minn./Melrose HS). Bednar scored a career-high 16 points on a 7-of-11 shooting performance, while Orth finished with 10 points and five assists.
• Augsburg outscored St. Kate's 40-20 in points in the paint and 12-6 in fast break points.
• For the game, Augsburg shot 45.8 percent (27-of-59) from the field and connected on 15-of-19 from the free throw line.FOR THE FOES• The Wildcats were led by Mari Lee, who finished with 14 points and seven rebounds, while adding a pair of assists and blocked shots. LaShay Holt led St. Kate's on the boards with 10 rebounds, while adding eight points and six assists.
