Auggies drop 5-0 decision at St. Thomas

MENDOTA HEIGHTS, Minn. -- Claiming a 30-22 advantage in shots on-goal, the University of St. Thomas scored a 5-0 victory over visiting Augsburg College in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference men's hockey game on Friday evening at the St. Thomas Ice Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg was outshot by a 30-22 margin and surrendered two power-play goals in three Tommie man-advantage opportunities in the game. 
• Augsburg goalie Fredrik Melander (SO, Uppsala, Sweden/Trinity-Pawling Prep (N.Y.) HS) had 25 saves.
• Dylan Meier (SO, Highlands Ranch, Colo./Mountain Vista HS) had four shots on-goal for Augsburg, while Corbin Chapman (SO, Burnsville, Minn.) and Nate Flynn (FY, Hastings, Minn.) had three shots each.


FOR THE FOES
• Thomas Williams scored two goals for the Tommies, a power-play goal in the first period and the final goal of the game in the third period.
• Alex Altenbernd had a goal and an assist for the Tommies, while Tyler Richter and Brian LeBlanc also scored goals.
• Drew Fielding had 22 saves in goal for St. Thomas.
