Augsburg falls to No. 2 ranked St. Thomas

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Parker Hines (SR, Lakeville, Minn./Minnehaha Academy HS) led the Augsburg College men's basketball team with 19 points but it wasn't enough as the Auggies fell 90-75 in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contest on Saturday afternoon at Schoenecker Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Despite four players in double figures and their second-best shooting performance of the season, the Auggies dropped a MIAC contest to league-leading St. Thomas.
• Hines led the Auggies offensively, finishing with 19 points, on 6-of-13 shooting from the floor.
• Joe Zangel (JR, St. Louis Park, Minn./St. Louis Park HS) had the best game of his Auggie career. Zangel scored a career-high 18 points on 8-of-12 shooting and tied a career-high with seven rebounds.
• Collin Olmscheid (FY, Buffalo, Minn./Buffalo HS) scored 16 points for the Auggies on a 6-of-7 shooting afternoon, which included a perfect 3-for-3 afternoon from 3-point range.
• Brandon Little (JR, Broomfield, Colo./Broomfield HS) finished with 10 points, two rebounds and a blocked shot.
• For the game, Augsburg shot 50.9 percent (28-of-55) from the field, while St. Thomas connected on 52.4 percent (33-of-63) of its shots.

• The Tommies claimed a 32-29 advantage on the boards.
• St. Thomas outscored the Auggies 20-0 in points off turnovers.

FOR THE FOES
• St. Thomas finished with four players in double figures, led by Marcus Alipate, who scored a game-high 28 points
