Auggies fall to No. 3 ranked Tommies

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Hannah Steinhaus (FY, Waterville, Minn./Waterville-Elysian-Morristown HS) led the Augsburg College women's basketball team in a 60-37 loss to undefeated and No. 3 ranked University of St. Thomas in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's basketball contest on Saturday afternoon at Schoenecker Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• St. Thomas led from start to finish on a tough shooting afternoon for the Auggies.
• Steinhaus tied her season-high with nine points, while adding five rebounds and a pair of steals to lead the Auggies.
Bridget Bednar (FY, Pierz, Minn./Pierz HS) also finished with nine points for the Auggies and added a pair of rebounds.
Jenna Orth (JR, Melrose, Minn.) finished with seven points, two rebounds and two assists.

• For the game, Augsburg shot 25.0 percent (10-of-40) from the field, while St. Thomas connected on 42.4 percent (25-of-59) of its shot attempts.
• The Tommies claimed a 40-30 advantage on the boards.
• Augsburg was outscored 30-12 in points in the paint.


FOR THE FOES
• Jenna Dockter and Maggie Weirers led the Tommies with 13 and 12 points respectively. 
• Anna Smith pulled down a game-high 12 rebounds.
