Lillquist leads Auggies past Macalester

MINNEAPOLIS -- Jessica Lillquist (JR, Sebeka, Minn./Sebeka HS) led the Augsburg College women's basketball team in a 48-37 victory over Macalester College in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's basketball contest on Wednesday evening at Si Melby Hall.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Auggies led for more than 34 minutes of the action, extending their lead to as many as 17 points, before claiming the 48-37 victory.
• Lillquist nearly posted her third double-double of the season, leading the Auggies with 13 points and nine rebounds, while matching a career-high with seven assists and four steals.
• Abbey Luger (SR, Oakdale, Minn./North St. Paul HS) also nearly posted a double-double for the Auggies finishing with 11 points, nine rebounds and four assists.
• Jenna Orth (JR, Melrose, Minn.) also had a solid night for Augsburg, posting eight rebounds, seven points, three assists and three steals.

• For the game, Augsburg shot 35.4 percent (17-of-48) from the field, while Macalester connected on just 31.1 percent (14-of-45) of its shot attempts.
• The Auggies claimed a 39-31 advantage on the boards.
• Augsburg outscored Macalester 22-14 in points in the paint.


FOR THE FOES
• Erin Murray led the Scots offensively with 13 points.
• Macalester was led on the boards by Regan Fruh, who pulled down eight points and added four steals.
