Auggie men's soccer claims 1-1 draw at Gustavus

ST. PETER, Minn. -- Abdullah Alshayba (FY, Alkhobar, Saudi Arabia) scored an unassisted goal in the 71st minute, lifting the Augsburg College men's soccer team to a 1-1, two-overtime tie at Gustavus Adolphus College in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contest on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Alshayba scored his first collegiate goal at the 70:50 mark, knotting the game at 1-1.
• Gustavus outshot Augsburg by a 17-8 margin, including a 3-2 advantage in overtime. Christian Metzger (FY, Savage, Minn./Prior Lake HS) had three shots for the Auggies.
• Tommy Molski (SO, Woodbury, Minn./North St. Paul HS) had eight saves in goal for Augsburg to earn the tie.

FOR THE FOES
• Patrick Roth opened the scoring for the Gusties with a goal at the 4:25 mark.
