Pemble's OT goal gives Augsburg 1-0 win

MINNEAPOLIS -- Rayni Pemble (SO, Anoka, Minn.) scored the game-winning goal 5:03 into overtime, giving Augsburg College a 1-0 win over Hamline University in a Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference women's soccer game on Friday evening at Edor Nelson Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Pemble scored her second goal of the season at the 95:03 mark. Her initial shot was stopped by a diving Hamline goalkeeper, but Pemble was able to push the rebound forward and strike into an open net for the game-winner.
• Augsburg outshot Hamline by a 24-10 margin -- 20-5 in the second half and overtime -- and had 10 shots on-goal in the contest. 
• Marie Fitzgerald (SR, Fort Atkinson, Wis.) had six shots in the game, while Carter Denison (JR, Minneapolis, Minn./South HS) had five shots and Marta Anderson (JR, Mankato, Minn./Mankato East HS) had four shots.

• Marissa Guillou (SO, Burnsville, Minn./Apple Valley HS) had five saves in goal for the Auggies, picking up her fifth shutout win of the season and Augsburg's ninth as a team.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• With the win, Augsburg moves into a tie for first place in the MIAC standings with Gustavus, as both teams have 18 conference points. Gustavus hosts Bethel in MIAC play on Saturday (10/17). The Auggies have three conference games left in the regular season, and the top six teams qualify for the MIAC postseason playoffs. 

FOR THE FOES
• Arendje Louter had four shots for the Pipers, while Alicia Williams had two shots.
• Amy Ramras had nine saves in goal for Hamline.
