Auggies drop first MIAC contest, 2-0 at St. Kate's

ST. PAUL, Minn. -- Outshot by an 11-5 margin, the Augsburg College women's soccer dropped its first Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference contest of the season, falling 2-0 at St. Catherine University on Wednesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg was limited to just five shots in the game -- two shots each by Nora Edelen (FY, Middleton, Wis.) and Marta Anderson (JR, Mankato, Minn./Mankato East HS) and a shot by Brigette Jira (FY, Fort Atkinson, Wis.). Augsburg had just two shots on-goal in the game.
• Marissa Guillou (SO, Burnsville, Minn./Apple Valley HS) had three saves in goal for the Auggies.

BEYOND THE BOXSCORE
• The goals were just the fourth and fifth surrendered by Augsburg this season. Augsburg has outscored its opponents by a 36-5 margin this season.
• Augsburg's five shots were its fewest in a game since recording two shots in its 3-0 NCAA tournament loss at the University of Chicago (Ill.) on Nov. 15, 2014.

FOR THE FOES
• Iryna Talkachova opened the scoring with a goal from Anna Pedersen 3:25 into the game, taking a pass off a throw-in and popping it over the keeper into the net.
