ST. PAUL, Minn. -- The Augsburg College women's basketball team jumped out to a quick lead and was able to use a strong fourth quarter to earn a 58-51 victory over the University of Northwestern-St. Paul in nonconference action on Tuesday evening at the Ericksen Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED• Augsburg jumped out to a quick 21-8 lead after the first quarter but was only able to score 13 points in the second and third quarters combined. The Auggies outscored Northwestern 24-13 in the final quarter to seal the victory and move to 2-0 on the season.
• Augsburg was led offensively by Maria Loughlin (SR, Rogers, Minn.), who scored a game-high 19 points on 6-of-12 shooting, while adding a team-high six assists, six rebounds, three steals and two blocked shots.• The Auggies were led on the boards by Hannah Steinhaus (SO, Waterville, Minn./Waterville-Elysian-Morristown HS), who pulled down seven rebounds and added eight points and two steals.• Also scoring in double figures for the Auggies was
Ashley Anfinson (SR, Watertown, Minn./Watertown-Mayer HS), who did all of her damage from beyond the arc, finishing 4-of-8 from three-point range.
• For the game, Augsburg shot 39.3 percent (22-of-56) from the floor, while holding Northwestern to just 29.8 percent (17-of-57) of its field-goal attempts.
• The teams finished with an identitical 39 rebounds apiece.
FOR THE FOES• Northwestern finished with two players in double figures, led by Jessica Cole, who finished with 12 points.
• Regan Cooper led all players with a game-high 13 rebounds, while adding nine points.
