MINNEAPOLIS -- The Augsburg College women's basketball team fell 78-69 to the University of Wisconsin-Stout in nonconference action on Monday evening at Si Melby Hall.

HOW IT HAPPENED• Augsburg struggled to find its offensive rhythm in the first quarter and was never quite able to take control from the Blue Devils in a hard fought contest at Si Melby Hall.
• The Auggies outscored UW-Stout 46-37 in the second and third quarters and overcame a 19-point deficit to take 46-45 lead with 2:34 left to play in the third quarter. Unfortunately, that was as close as the Auggies would get as Stout sealed the nine-point victory.
• Augsburg was led offensively by Maria Loughlin (SR, Rogers, Minn.), who tied a game-high 14 points on 6-of-14 shooting, while adding three assists, three steals and two blocked shots.• The Auggies were led on the boards by Hannah Steinhaus (SO, Waterville, Minn./Waterville-Elysian-Morristown HS), who nearly posted her first career double-double, finishing with 11 points and nine rebounds.• For the game, Augsburg shot 41.3 percent (26-of-63) from the floor, while UW-Stout connected on 50.0 percent (31-of-62) of its field-goal attempts.
• UW-Stout claimed a 42-32 advantage on the boards.
FOR THE FOES• UW-Stout finished with four players in double figures, led by Kyleigh Hebert and Jenna Goldsmith, who finished with 14 points apiece.
• Goldsmith also led the Blue Devis on the boards, pulling down eight, while adding two blocked shots, an assist and a steal.
UP NEXT• Augsburg travels to Colorado Springs, Colo., for three games during Thanksgiving week, starting with a contest at Colorado College on Wednesday (11/25) at 5 p.m. Central time.
