MINNEAPOLIS -- The Augsburg College women's basketball team fell 78-69 to the University of Wisconsin-Stout in nonconference action on Monday evening at Si Melby Hall.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Augsburg struggled to find its offensive rhythm in the first quarter and was never quite able to take control from the Blue Devils in a hard fought contest at Si Melby Hall.
• The Auggies outscored UW-Stout 46-37 in the second and third quarters and overcame a 19-point deficit to take 46-45 lead with 2:34 left to play in the third quarter. Unfortunately, that was as close as the Auggies would get as Stout sealed the nine-point victory.
• Augsburg was led offensively by Maria Loughlin (SR, Rogers, Minn.), who tied a game-high 14 points on 6-of-14 shooting, while adding three assists, three steals and two blocked shots.
• The Auggies were led on the boards by Hannah Steinhaus (SO, Waterville, Minn./Waterville-Elysian-Morristown HS), who nearly posted her first career double-double, finishing with 11 points and nine rebounds.
• For the game, Augsburg shot 41.3 percent (26-of-63) from the floor, while UW-Stout connected on 50.0 percent (31-of-62) of its field-goal attempts.
• UW-Stout claimed a 42-32 advantage on the boards.

FOR THE FOES
• UW-Stout finished with four players in double figures, led by Kyleigh Hebert and Jenna Goldsmith, who finished with 14 points apiece.
• Goldsmith also led the Blue Devis on the boards, pulling down eight, while adding two blocked shots, an assist and a steal.
