COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. -- The Augsburg College women's basketball team shot a season-best 50 percent from the field, claiming a 74-59 nonconference victory over Colorado College at Reid Arena on Wednesday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED• Augsburg used its best shooting performance of the season, in addition to a great night from its bench to seal the nonconference victory.Â
• The Auggies claimed a 44-6 advantage in bench points and a 46-28 advantage in points in the paint. The Auggies forced 28 turnovers, picking up 18 steals on the night.
• Augsburg finished with three players in double figures, led by Alaina Quaranta (FY, Eau Claire, Wis./North HS), who posted a career-high 17 points on 8-of-9 shooting from the floor.
• Also scoring in double figures for the Auggies were Maria Loughlin (SR, Rogers, Minn.) and Jenna Orth (SR, Melrose, Minn./Melrose HS). Loughlin finished with 15 points and three steals, while Orth scored 11 points, pulled down four rebounds and picked up four steals.• For the game, Augsburg shot a season-best 50.0 percent (28-of-56) from the floor, while Colorado College connected on 36.5 percent (19-of-52) of its field-goal attempts.
FOR THE FOES• Colorado College finished with three players in double figures, led by Danielle Davis, who scored 13 points and pulled down seven rebounds.
• The Tigers claimed a 35-32 advantage on the boards.UP NEXT• Augsburg will take on North Central College (Ill.) and Lewis and Clark College on Friday and Saturday in the Colorado College Tournament.
