Auggies edged 2-1 at UW-Superior

SUPERIOR, Wis. -- Darby Lindgren (JR, Lakeville, Minn.) scored the lone goal of the game for Augsburg College, but the University of Wisconsin-Superior scored a 2-1 victory over the Auggies in a nonconference women's hockey game on Tuesday evening at Wessman Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Lindgren put the Auggies on top 1-0 with a power-play goal at the 13:36 mark of the first period, assisted by Megan Robertson (SO, Boissevain, Manitoba). But UW-Superior tied the game just 38 seconds later, then scored the go-ahead goal 59 seconds into the third period.
• UW-Superior outshot Augsburg by a 39-25 margin in the game.
• Kayla Fuechtmann (SR, Circle Pines, Minn./Centennial HS) had seven shots on-goal for the Auggies, while Lindgren had five shots and Robertson had three shots.
• Erika Allen (SR, Roseville, Minn.) collected 33 saves in goal for the Auggies.

FOR THE FOES
• Hayley Adair tied the game at 1-1 for the Yellowjackets with a goal at the 14:14 mark of the second period, assisted by Maggie Cragg and Leah Elledge.
• Lynne Larson gave the Yellowjackets the lead with a goal 59 seconds into the third period, assisted by Karen Larson and Amanda Coey.
• Natasha Singer had 28 saves in goal for UW-Superior.

UP NEXT
• Augsburg is idle until the weekend of Dec. 4-5, when it takes on St. Olaf in a MIAC series. The game on Dec. 4 is at 7:30 p.m. in Northfield, Minn., and the game on Dec. 5 is at 7 p.m. at Ed Saugestad Rink.
